The future role of NPH is to address the big issues, champion specific themes, and with local parent carer forums, identify common priorities. This will ensure that information and experiences are shared so that service delivery can be influenced at a local, regional and national level. Members of the steering group will present the views of local parent carer forums representing the north, middle, east and south of the county working as equal partners on local, regional and national strategic planning groups.
NPH will ensure parents, carers and families of young people with additional needs or disabilities are able to participate in the development and delivery of their services by;
- Developing peer support and group participation
- Developing a county-wide young people's forum
- Information sharing
- County wide consultation feedback
- Empowering parents and carers to have an understanding and active voice in local, regional and national government agendas
APTCOO curently host NPH by providing back office support and core functions to the group. Between now and April 2017, NPH will transition towards independence and become a fully independent, constituted, parent carer led organisation.
