Located in the peaceful town of Retford, Tall Trees is a fully accessible, single-story sensory space designed to support young people through a blend of therapeutic and educational experiences.​
About Tall Trees
The setting includes two sensory suites, one for calming for support regulation, the other for stimulation and engagement—integrated into each learner’s daily routine.​
Our Vision
To provide a therapeutic environment that supports small-step academic learning through fun, engaging, and individualised interactions.
Curriculum Approach
We combine personalised learning with daily sensory activities tailored to each learner’s needs, promoting both development and regulation.​Key Activities.
Sensory Integration
Our bespoke and purpose-built environment has been designed to promote development across all sensory systems (auditory, tactile, visual, vestibular, proprioceptive, interoceptive)Life Skills: Every day opportunities are maximised to develop fundamental independent self-help skills such as eating, toileting and washing.

Community Activities
Weekly visits into the local community are planned and include local walks, shop visits, hydrotherapy, and riding for the disabled.
Foundations of Learning
Planned and purposeful play-based learning opportunities are timetabled that incorporate communication and interaction along with cognition and learning.
Professional Partnerships
Weekly opportunities are planned for therapeutic interventions for each child placed at Tall Trees that include Sensory OT, Speech and Language Therapy and Makaton Signs and Symbols.
